Supporting early careers
Newly Qualified Pharmacist pathway offers a designated CPPE education supervisor, blended learning approach with a mix of online learning, workshops, assessment and work-based support over 12 months. Learning is shaped on the needs of the individual and can offer preparing to train as an independent prescriber as part of the programme.
Supply of Mounjaro
Weight management: prescribing perspectives is our new 2 hour face to face evening workshop and associated e-course is designed to support pharmacy professionals providing weight management services via independent prescribing and/or supplying under a PGD. The workshop is open to all pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists. Available 7-9pm at locations across Lancashire and South Cumbria:

Independent prescribing

Preparing pharmacy technicians for future roles and changes in legislation
Pharmacy technician development programme our exciting new programme is designed to help pharmacy technicians at any stage of their career, become better equipped to adapt and deliver safe and effective patient care. With the support of a CPPE education supervisor, learning will be tailored to the needs of the individual over 6 – 12 months. PGDS: Empowering pharmacy technicians to provide services is a new 2 hour face to face workshop focusing on smoking cessation and emergency contraception services, available 7–9pm:

Pharmacy technicians: using patient group directions in practice e-learning provides examples of opportunities to use PGDs and increase capacity for person-centred care within the healthcare team.
Blood pressure assessment in community pharmacy: essential skills 2.5 hour face to face workshop is available for all pharmacy professionals to practice their skills, including ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. With Pharmacy technician involvement in Hypertension case finding service this workshop offers practical skills training supported by a clinical demonstrator. Available 7-9.30pm:

Pharmacy First and the sore throat pathway

Optimising infection management online workshop explores infection management in primary care by interpreting antimicrobial prescribing metrics, identifying quality improvement opportunities, and recognising infection prevention and control as an integral part of antimicrobial stewardship.

CPPE’s PQS tracker helps you quickly determine which of our learning programmes and assessments have been completed within the specified timeframe (if applicable) and signposts to additional support via learning gateways.
Depression becoming part of NMS
Depression: having meaningful conversations online focal point will support you in developing practical tools and phrases to help you create a safe space for people to talk.
Emergency contraception becoming part of the Contraception service
Emergency contraception online workshops and NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service: delivering effective consultations to initiate contraception face to face workshops are part of the bigger portfolio of resources including top tips and recordings of panel discussions with representatives from NHSE, Community Pharmacy England (CPE) and pharmacists delivering the contraception service. The 2 hour face to face contraception workshop is available to all pharmacy professionals to support their confidence in delivering the service and hear top tips from the speaker. It runs 7-9pm:

The trial advanced service for community pharmacies to provide seasonal influenza vaccination to eligible children
The CPPE Vaccination service hub has resources for those delivering vaccination services and in addition some suggested resources for the NHS Childhood vaccination service.
Leadership
Leading for change is a 6 month online programme with mandatory workshops and online discussion forums designed to develop inspiring and effective pharmacy leaders, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to take on challenges effectively and lead in medicines optimisation to deliver better outcomes for your patients and service users. This leadership programme is open to pharmacy professionals from all sectors and it’s a great way to develop with peers across the wider pharmacy workforce.
Supporting the development of others
Advancing your practice in education pathway is a self-directed seamless blend of online and face-to-face learning actively supporting you in developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to advance your practice as an educator and trainer. The pathway is designed to be used flexibly – you can study as much or as little of it as you need. Using our self-assessment framework will help you to plan a route through the pathway that meets your priorities and learning needs. There are no enforced deadlines, and you may revisit any component at any time.
